As system engineer you have the chance to work with state of the art leading edge open source technology in a large scale environment. We extensively use a very large amount of the standard unix/linux toolbox to build the platform on which our codebase is hosted. On top of that we work in tight integration with the development team that builds the hyves codebase. You need solid understanding of general system administration with a twist because most of your work involves changes in an automated configuration system which roll out over clusters sizing from 10 to 1000 servers. We promote and support open source and have a liberal policy with regard to open source work within the company.
